UV Curing Applications

UV technology offers endless possibilities. In the field of UV curing we have partnered with companies across the world, small, large and everything in-between. We are always excited to partner with companies developing new technologies utilizing UV in new applications or even enhancing those that already exist. Below are some (bot not all!) of the interesting applications that we have had involvement with in our more than 30 years industry experience. We look forward to facing complex and exciting challenges in the next 30 years.

Need help deciding? We have extensive experience in many applications that use UV. We also regularly partner with R & D departments within business, military, medical and educational institutions developing new solutions utilizing UV technology. Contact our technical team on +44 (0)1582 805410 or email info@uv-technik.co.uk to discuss how we can support or advise you in your UV journey.

Adhesives

UV curing adhesives use UV lamps to initiate the curing process. The result is formation of a permanent bond.

Automotive

UV radiation is used to efficiently cure coatings such as paints, inks and adhesives within seconds.

Fibre Optic

UV curable coatings are used in the production of fiber optic, providing protection to the fiber as it is drawn.

Electronics

The ultra-fast cure and lower temperature enabled by UV curing is perfectly suited to electronics applications.

Flooring

UV curable topcoats are used in the manufacture of both residential and commercial vinyl and wooden flooring.

Furniture Coating

UV curable stains, primers, sealants and topcoats are all used in the manufacture of wooden furniture.

Glass Coating & Bonding

UV is used for glass bonding, providing an invisible joint. It allows glass to be bonded to glass, metal or wood.

ID & Credit Cards

UV curable screen printing inks are used for printing onto coated or uncoated PVC and PLA films.

Label Printing

UV inks are used by label printers to produce bright and vibrant results. Applications include product labels and logos.

Metal Decoration

Decorative UV inks can be cured using UV lamps. These inks are suitable for metal containers, packaging, and cans.

Packaging

UV coatings is a common finishing process in packaging applications. UV coating styles include high-gloss and matte.

Paper Printing

UV ultraviolet coatings is a glossy, shiny liquid coating applied to a printed paper surface and cured on a printing press.

Spot Varnishing

UV varnishes create a more vivid, more luxurious and more tactile finish when compared to non-UV varnishes.

3D Coating

Coatings with high mechanical and chemical resistance can be applied to three-dimensional objects and then UV cured.

3D Printing

Typical printing processes used for the printing onto 3D components are: inkjet, offset, silkscreen and pad printing.
