The UV Box is a device for safely cleaning tools and instruments using UV. A UVC-impermeable poly-carbonate pane inserted on inside of the door made of stainless steel provides a reliable shield against the generated UVC radiation. This type of radiation has a strong germicidal effect. The device has a safety feature which means that as soon as the door is opened, a corresponding locking mechanism switches off the three incorporated UVC lamps. One of them UVC lamps is installed in the upper part of the UV Box, and others in the lower part.

Each of these lamps emit ultraviolet light (UVC light) with a wavelength of 254 nm. This UVC radiation prevents cell division and reproduction of microorganisms such as bacteria, spores, mildews and viruses. This results in a significant, and chemical free reduction in germ content. The housing itself is made of stainless steel and contains an electronic ballast for operating the UVC lamps. The user can adjust the exposure times from 1 second to 600 minutes by setting the integrated timer. The UV BOX can be equipped with various object holders, depending on the intended application.
